Tamara recently stated about Beauty on Wheels “I am SUPER EXCITED to share that I am the #host #presenter of a fashion and beauty segment on LATV (Latino Alternative Television Network)! The name of this segment is “Beauty on Wheels” –which I love as someone on wheels ;). Beauty on Wheels airs on LATV, on television, and there’s also a section of BOW en their website latv.com/life and is also published on LATV’s YouTube channel.”
Beauty on Wheels is unique in the way that the host is in a wheelchair, not something seen much, worldwide. As a matter of fact, Tamara truly hopes this opens up more doors for her, in the hosting world and in general in the #media, but also for people in wheelchairs and disabilities or #differentabilities to work more, on television, in front of the cameras.
But does it even matter that Tamara is in a wheelchair? No, not at all. As the host of Beauty on Wheels, Tamara will be covering different types of events and sharing fashion trends and tips, as well as tutorials on how to do makeup, how to wear something, what to do or not, basically what’s in and what isn’t 😉 and these tips are for everyone.
Tamara adds, “I have always loved fashion. My childhood friends would probably remember me as a trendsetter. Lol. As I got older, I started doing my makeup, learning what works…or doesn’t and just loving it! I’ve since then loved doing makeup, and anything #beauty #fashion and #styling, I simply love!”

Tamara hopes that as the host of Beauty on Wheels she will help to break stereotypes too. She states, “Just because you’re in a wheelchair, does not mean you can’t be feminine or look good and put together. And do what you love!! Why not? If someone thinks so, then that’s a stereotype, which I hope to break.I’ve continued to love all these things, after becoming paralyzed, and now I get to share all this cool info with people as well as combining my love for hosting which is super neat!”
She has never wanted for her disability or condition to define her or what she can do and added, “As I see it, I’m a host who happens to go around in life on wheels, but my wheels don’t limit me as a model or host and that’s what I want people to see. I might do things differently, but I’m still capable of doing them. I truly hope this can help to open up more doors. This is about #diversity and inclusion #disabilityinclusion for me too. I’d love to see more people with disabilities, yes on TV. But hey, at the end of the day, it’s about following your dreams, doing what you love and what you’re passionate about. And that’s what I’m doing. I hope people do that also and fight hard for their goals and ideals.

Tamara recientemente comento acerca de BEAUTY ON WHEELS, “Estoy muy emocionada de compartir que soy la #conductora #presentadora de un segmento de belleza y moda, por medio de LATV (Latino Alternative Television Network) El nombre de éste segmento es “Belleza Sobre Ruedas” -‘lo cual me encanta como una persona sobre ruedas ;). Beauty on Wheels sale al aire en LATV, en televisión y también hay una sección en su sitio web latv.com/life (también será publicado en el canal de YouTube de LATV).
Beauty on Wheels es único en la manera que la conductora está en silla de ruedas, cosa que no se ve mucho, a nivel mundial. De hecho, Tamara verdaderamente espera que ésto abra más puertas para ella, en el mundo de la conducción y televisión y en general en los medios, pero también para que personas en silla de ruedas y con discapacidad o #diferenteshabilidades puedan trabajar más en televisión, en frente de las cámaras.
¿Pero realmente importa el hecho que Tamara esté en una silla? No, para nada. Como la presentadora de Beauty on Wheels Tamara estará cubriendo diferentes tipos de eventos y compartiendo lo que está de moda, tips, al igual que tutoriales de cómo maquillarse, como vestir algo, qué hacer o no, básicamente qué está “IN” y qué no. Y todos éstos tips son para cualquier persona.
Tamara agrega “Siempre me ha gustado la moda desde niña. Mis amistades de mi infancia probablemente me recuerdan como una persona que imponía modas siempre Jaja. Y ya cuando crecí, empecé a maquillarme, a aprender lo que funciona y lo que no ¡y me encantó! Desde entonces me ha encantado maquillar y todo lo relacionado a #belleza #moda #styling me encanta!”
Tamara espera que como la presentadora de BOW también de alguna manera pueda ayudar a romper estereotipos, “¡Simplemente porque estás en una silla de ruedas no significa que no puedes ser femenina o verte bien y a la moda y hacer lo que te gusta! ¿Porqué no? Si alguien piensa eso entonces ése es un estereotipo y espero ayudar a romperlo. ¡A mí me han seguido gustando todas estas cosas después de quedar parapléjica y ahora puedo compartir toda esta información, con cualquier persona, al igual de combinar mi pasión por la conducción! – lo cual se me hace súper padre y estoy muy agradecida.” Tamara añade, “Como yo lo veo, soy una conductora que simplemente anda sobre ruedas, PERO mis ruedas no me limitan como modelo o conductora. Quizá haré las cosas un poco diferentes, eso es todo, pero SÍ PUEDO. Y eso es lo que quiero que la gente siempre vea en mi.
“Para mi esto también se trata de #diversidad #inclusión #inclusióndepersonascondiscapacidad Si, me encantaría ver a más gente con discapacidades trabajar en televisión. ¿Pero sabes qué? Al final del día, se trata de seguir tus sueños, de hacer lo que amas Y lo que te apasiona. Y éso es lo que yo estoy haciendo y espero que la gente también lo haga y luchen con todo por sus metas e ideales.
Espero que a la gente le guste Beauty on Wheels. Y estén al pendiente porque ya vienen más episodios.”
